Course Overview
Karma & Rebirth in Early Buddhism is the second of the 'Early Buddhism' Courses, and the first course to be archived at Wisdom and Wonders.
The course was given twice during the first half of 2015. There are six workshops in total. The workshops were held at monthly intervals during the first 6 months of 2015. First at the Buddhist Library in Sydney with Bhante Sujato alone, and again at the BSWA Dhammaloka Centre in Perth with Bhante Sujato and Ajahn Brahmali. We have included videos from both locations where appropriate, and links to further resources.
For the online version we have made a separate page for each workshop, which can be accessed via the buttons above or below. You are currently on the Course Overview page.
Each workshop page has a brief 'Introduction' followed by 'The Readings' for the workshop, and then the videos recorded at the workshop sessions.
The readings are essential to the course, and should be completed prior to each workshop. By completing the reading students will acquire a reasonable knowledge of the suttas, as well as the skills to explore and interpret on their own.
While the readings will be translations from the Pali, the classes will also refer to comparative studies, most of which are based on the work of Venerable Anālayo.
A discussion group has been set up at SuttaCentral for this course.
This course was given over a 6 month period, so please take your time, and enjoy the course!
